I have mentioned that I have spent some time studying weather forecasting. Mainly severe weather. Here are three of my certs and the new way I'll be doing my weather forecasts. Of course my name is removed for privacy.

That is so true. I don't watch a lot of television, so I read a lot about things that interest me. I also do a lot of research on the internet. My interest in weather started after the 2009 ice storm we had here in Richmond. My wife had surgery that day, and we had just left the hospital. We were without power for 6 days. I said I'd never be caught unprepared like that again. This came to fruition in December 2021. My wife was in Bowling Green with our daughter, who was to have surgery. Because I had decided to further my studies in weather and was able to get registered with the National Weather Service, I had an alert area set up for Bowling Green. I knew it might be bad when I went to sleep; my phone went crazy, waking me up. I quickly called my wife and our son, who also lives in Bowling Green, to warn them about 15 minutes before the tornado hit.

I neglected to mention that I obtained my certificate for the hand analysis course with the Weather Academy. That is the reason you may see more hand-drawn analyses from me in my weather forecasts.
