Final.

Good win Nicholas County.

Mustangs lose in back-to-back weeks to our former district opponents, falling to Nicholas County 30-7.

For the second week n a row, our Middle-Class, White, Suburbanite, Catholic School defense was no match for our country-cookin' opponents from Brooksville and Carlisle.

A pair of early game Nicholas County touchdowns had the Mustangs faithful having flashbacks of a week ago when the Bracken County Polar Bers ran roughshod over our guys, but then this game took a turn.  Momentum jumped into a Brossart uniform following the second Jackets touchdown, and when Landon Spaulding found Landon Ruth wide-open up the sidelines, and Max Runge connected on the PAT, we had a 14-7 ballgame.

The two teams exchanged possessions throughout the second quarter and Brossart was to receive the kick-off in the second half.  However after going 3 and out the third quarter played out much like the second with no additional scoring.

The kill shots came when Nichols County put two in the endzone in the fourth quarter, making the final score 30-7, preserving their 5-0 season record.  The Mustangs fall to 2-3.

On the night, Landon Ruth scored our only touchdown,  a 66 yard pass play from Landon Spaulding, plus a Max Runge PAT.

Unofficially, I have Wyatt Simons for three Nicholas touchdowns, and Jayden Watkins with thier remaining score.

Brossart goes to Louisville DeSales next week, while the Jackets travel to Carrollton for a bout with the much improved Carroll County.

When Mustang writes I am always going to read.  Just two examples of how his posts are don’t miss.
