The long and winding road that is the 1st district 2A schedule begins this week with the CC Rockets coming to War Memorial to play the “banged up” Mayfield Cardinals. It is a big bang at that.

On the second play of the game, Josiah England ran to the outside and down the sideline for what looked to be a possible touchdown. He never made it there. A hamstring tear took him to the ground. Sigh. It’s hard to watch any player get sidelined by an injury.

So the Rockets will not have to concern themselves with Josiah England, but they will still have a challenge trying to keep up with the number of quality running backs that Mayfield has.

CC is coming off a win against Union City, and I will add that the Rockets are one of the few teams in WKY that own a win over Mayfield at War Memorial.

Can they do it again? Tell us what you think.

No they can not...GBR as you would say.
