Our listener question this week is from Dave Burnworth. He says attendance at HS games is down due to ticket prices and online streaming.

Do you guys agree?  Are you seeing a drop in attendance?

I guess it depends on the situation the team is currently in. PT for a number of years was having trouble putting people in the stands. With all the success since Coach Thompson arrived, it's as good as ever. Home and away games both are very well attended.

However, I have talked to some of the older faithful who still refuse to buy a ticket online on Gofan.

Most tickets are generally 7 to 8 dollars after the dollar fee they charge now. Have had a handful of games more or less than that.

I think streaming has cut down attendance plus college playing on Friday nights like this past Friday when UofL was playing at home.

I know some old people won't do the online tickets. I was driving to Florida yesterday and saw an older couple and they had a paper map on the dash. I didn't know anyone still used maps but I guess if my phone quit working I would be wishing I had a map.

Hard to buy online when you don’t get emails on your phone.  Us, technology dinosaurs, find the question of security concerning, insulting to pay a fee because they won’t take my cash, compounded by then paying a transaction fee for using a credit card because stores prefer cash.  Simply totally lost the need to conveniently serve all potential customers.  But, that might be more a comment about today’s merchants and not high school football.

Telling on myself a little bit here, and I get made fun of for it, but I look at paper maps and have a road atlas I love to look through. Just one of my things I've enjoyed since I was a kid. Now I definitely use all today's GPS technology, but on the occasion that has failed us, I was able to get us where we needed to go, even lots of states away from basically knowing where most of the stuff in the US is. It does pay off every now and then and I look like a hero in that moment. Lol
