You could maybe say the same for both of them too. The path to state was likely easier for them than where they are now.

I think this is a great question. I don't know that Pulaski starting guards are Seniors. They only have 9 seniors listed on their roster. Both teams are well coached, and both teams will be greatly improved by week 6. I think the home team will have an advantage, but they will be an awesome game, and I'm glad to see Pulaski stepping up their schedule since Coach Burns has taken over. 

The 2 starting guards are seniors, Colton Cain and Brody Johnson. The starting O line against Bryan Station was 4 sophomores and 1 junior.

Cooper has beaten them when it mattered in recent years, and Scott County has dominated Highlands in their last 6-7 matchups. South on the other hand had some more success. They had a monster season and won it all in the 2018 season, and they also won it all again in the 2021 season beating a great Douglass team. While they haven’t won a title since 2021, they were semi-finalists last year losing to the eventual state champion Purples. I’d argue at the moment South Warren would possibly be my pick to win it all in 5A, if I’m being honest.

 

The current path for Highlands in 4A most likely includes either Boyle, Cov Cath or Corbin in round 3 then the potential of Paducah, Franklin, Boyle, Cov Cath or Corbin in round 4. I would personally prefer the 5A path to Kroger but we will see how it plays out.
