The Bruins have started the season 0-2 for the second straight year. Central Hardin fell behind to Elizabethtown 21-0 before sustaining some drives late in the 3rd and 4th quarter to make it a 21-14 final. Central Hardin had a late 4th quarter drive that ended with a dropped pass in the endzone with approximately 2:00 remaining in this matchup that could have tied the game.

They will face a 0-2 Warren East team that is led by QB Xavier Isable, who threw for 236 yards Friday in a 21-6 loss to Greenwood. The leading receiver, Brayden Lightfoot had 131 yards on 14 receptions.

Central Hardin struggles with teams who can pass the ball and this game will be a challenge for the DB of the Bruins.

I think that Central Hardin can produce just enough offense and keep pressure from its defensive front on Isable to keep this passing game in check.

My Prediction: Central Hardin 21 Warren East 14

I believe this will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. This is the first of two Hardin County schools taking the trip to the Smurf Turf this season as they’ll wrap up the season against North Hardin.

Both teams are winless and both teams will be playing their county foe next week, a win here is needed.

Generating offense against this Raiders defense has been easy. They did play their best half of football last week against Greenwood, shutting them out in the 2H. Could it have been some vanilla play calling by the Gators or did the Raiders finally make a good enough effort to make some stops. I like a few of these young Raiders and they’ll need to continue to improve, they are getting hats to the ball just have to make the tackles.

Offensively the Raiders have been put in a chokehold, what I thought would be a better more experienced OL has looked very sloppy. The run game is nonexistent so teams have just been firing off the LOS to rush the passer rather than playing gap sound football to stop the run. It’ll be a matter of not if they can keep Isable up to facilitate to his WR’s or they’ll get shut down again this Friday night. Lightfoot will be the best player on the field and if he’s able to get loose it’ll make this game interesting, just don’t think it’ll be enough.

Bruins 28 Raiders 14

This one in a rain delay. Doesn’t get any uglier if you are a Bruin fan.

Very surprising, Warren East has looked rough their first couple of outings.

That’s a bit wild.

It got uglier. Running clock… Warren East came out ready to play tonight

UGLY football in the Hardin County area so far this season. Central Hardin will be 0-3, John Hardin will be 1-2, North Hardin is 1-2, Meade County 0-3, Elizabethtown is the only team with a winning record at 2-1 after defeating LaRue County tonight.
