With some games still to go on Saturday, but from what I've watched today, is the very reason, there is no need for a preseason poll, or a preseason Heisman race. 

Texas did not look good, and Arch, who I think will be much better, but after today he's the fourth best Manning to play QB, and does not look like a Heisman finalist.

No way Bama should be in the top 10 and FSU not even rated? Another reason I wish they would shut up with all the preseason, junk. Wait until the First Monday in October to do a top 25! But if they do that we would have nothing to debate until the season started.

With the playoffs the polls mean much less and as you said, they give us and loudmouths like McAfee something to debate early in the season.
