99% of Word Population in Light

Featured Replies

From Ed Piotrowski WPDE on Facebook:

At 7:15 AM EDT this morning, 99% of the world’s nearly eight billion people were exposed to some form of sunlight, even if only the faintest twilight. About 83% experienced full daylight, while the rest saw varying levels of twilight.

This broad reach of sunlight is largely due to where people live: nearly 90% of the global population resides in the Northern Hemisphere, which tilts toward the sun in summer.

Interestingly, the day with the broadest sunlight reach isn’t the summer solstice (June 21), but today, July 8. After the solstice, Earth’s tilt gradually shifts sunlight southward, shortening days slightly but illuminating more heavily populated regions.

That's cool!

That is what I thought Deuce and why I posted it.

I learn from this forum and I want to give back.

I guess I was in the 1%.  I was taking a nap before starting work!
