Final.

Senior RHP Chase Flaherty hurls a gem - 6 scoreless innings and nine strikeouts - to lead the Tigers (15-6) to a 7-0 win over #3 ranked Sayre (21-4).

Beechwood will play in the semis tomorrow morning versus the winner of tonight’s Lyon County/Walton Verona game.

Pretty big upset.

Big win.  Beechwood when they play solid defense can compete with anyone.  The next game vs Lyon County showed a few glitches but Beechwood will be a player in the 9th region tournament for sure.  Lyon ended up as the Champion of the All A and Beechwood was in a great position in the 5th tied 2-2 before some mistakes and an unfortunate slip by the pitcher fielding a bunt.

Also nice to see Coach Seiter back in the dugout.  Link above explains why he has not been around this year as planned.  Tough situation at such a young age.  Lots of prayers for him and his family.  I remember him giving us fits when he was pitching at Bellevue for Coach Sanders.
