I'm thinking about buying a refurbished MacBook in the near future. May be starting to get back into having some gigs DJing, and I need a new laptop to do that. 

Has anybody purchased a refurb MacBook? Where did you purchase it? Good luck, bad luck?

I bought a refurbed MacBook pro directly from Apple in 2021. I did add Apple Care, and have been using it daily since then without a single second of downtime. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a refurbed Apple product, and for all intents and purposes it's just like buying new. They are a little more expensive than some of the other places they may be available from, but it's worth paying a little extra for peace of mind. If I remember correctly, I saved about 10-12% vs buying new. The only issue you may encounter is availability, and being able to get the exact specs you're looking for as refurbed inventory can change daily. 

I have a MacBook Air I bought from https://pawnballs.com/ at a fraction of the price of a new one.  I use it as an extra Friday night/backup/travel computer.  No issues at all and again the price was right.
