The day has arrived, as Clinton County seeks their second region title ever in their first trip to the finals since their one and only appearance (and win) in 1960, while Bowling Green is making their record-extending 12th consecutive appearance in the finals and after their 19th region title (which would tie Warren Central for most in the region).  It has been 21 years since Bowling Green has lost a postseason game to a team outside the 14th District, and they have never lost to Clinton County in postseason play.  In fact, they've never won by fewer than 11 points in their matchups.  Clinton County fell behind by as many as nine in the first quarter of their semifinal on Monday, but took a lead they'd never relinquish prior to the end of the quarter.  Bowling Green likewise trailed by as many as six in their semifinal, and still trailed at quarter's end, but used a dominant second quarter to seize control and stay comfortably ahead of Russell County. 

It has been 24 years since a team outside the 14th District has won a 4th Region title, and it had been 8 years since a team outside that district even appeared in the final.  Is this the night the streak finally ends? Or will Clinton County's strong run be, in baseball terms, a very long out, robbed at the warning track by the Purples?

Nothing against Bowling Green but I'd like to see Clinton County win it. They usually are solid but this seems like a once-in-a-lifetime type season and concluding at Rupp Arena would be a great way to see it end.

I think this is the attitude among all impartial observers. I'd obviously be for Central if they were in this spot, but in general, it would be good for the region for someone outside them and Bowling Green to win one.  Annually, I get a tweet at me after sending the final score from a gentleman who states simply "Too bad no one other than Warren Central or Bowling Green has a chance to win the region."  This is basically a "Hoosiers" moment for Clinton County.

Charitably, the fifth region crew is not having the best time. Twice they’ve managed to signal a foul on the wrong guy and had to correct. Among other things. 

I also just saw a player take the ball out of the hands of an inbounder right in front of the official and get to lay the ball in so there’s that too. 
 

I've never seen a crew look so overwhelmed. 

Clinton County leads 31-29 at half. Bowling Green pressure got to the Bulldogs some in the second, but it has been at expenses of fouls. Deuce Bailey has three, Braylon Banks two, and Carpenter has two also.  
 

We had a technical foul in the half on Kirkwood, the previously mentioned incident where Wardlow literally took the ball out of the inbounders hands, multiple times the officials signaled in wrong player for a foul and had to correct, a slew of questionable calls all over the court…. It’s a wild game.

As an Adair County fan who has also watch Clinton a lot this year, I can say that the only thing worse than 4th region officials is 5th region officials!

Man alive, fourth region officials are brutal to take year after year. 

Bowling Green out to a 37-31 lead now, 10-0 run spanning halftime. Turnovers starting to pile up.  

Clinton County responds with a 9-0 run to go back up 40-37. 3:15 3rd. 

BG up 44-42 after three. Mason has fouled out for Clinton County. 

48-46 BG. 5:40 4th. Wardlow fouled out for BG on a technical foul. Presumably for taunting. 

BG on 5-0 run. 53-48 with 3:19 4th. 

BG up 56-49 with 2:48 left in the fourth. Clinton County ball. But this has the feeling of a valiant effort that will fall short against the Goliath. 

All over but the shouting. 6-0 Bowling Green run, they lead 62-54 with less than 30 seconds.
