Just realized that the Twitter account for the Meade County football team and the schedule graphic they released both show "Greenwave" rather than "Green Wave". The KHSAA directory shows their mascot as the "Green Wave"...which is what I always thought?

I thought so too but their school website has it as Greenwave as well.

Meade County Enters the 2025 Football Season with a new coach in Blake Powers, a 2003 Graduate of Meade County and former QB. Powers took over in January from veteran head coach Larry Mofield, who retired after 21 seasons leading the Green Wave program. Mofield coached his entire 35-year career at Meade County. Powers spent the last three years on the Army coaching staff coaching running backs and tight ends. He played quarterback and tight end at Indiana University. Last season, the Black Knights led the country in rushing, averaging more than 300 yards an outing as Army finished 12-2.

Tulane Commit, QB Cade Scott, who threw for 2,295 yards and averaged 208 yards per game thru the air leaves a big void to fill on offense. But wait, breaking news. Durelle Loggins, who threw for 1,433 yards last season for the North Hardin Trojans, just started practicing with Meade County this week as their starting QB. North Hardin still has a talented QB in Jakylin Kirkland who split time with Loggins last season. With this addition to a team that sorely needed a QB, Meade County has high hopes for this season.

RB Wyatt Rainey returns for his senior season after rushing for 626 yards last season. Also returning to the backfield is FB Cruz Redman, who sat out last season recovering from an injury. As a sophomore two seasons ago, he was their leading rusher. They also return Grayson Heiner at slot WR, who looks to have a big season with the addition of Loggins at QB.

3 key returning players on offensive line include Braylen Pruitt. The offensive line boasts 3 players who average over 300lbs.

The Defense is led by seniors Jesse Beavin and Dylan Tucker.

My Prediction: Meade County finishes 2nd in District 2 behind South Warren and finishes the season with a 7-3 record.

According to the schedule on the KHSAA website you can flip the dates of the South Warren and Central Hardin games. South Warren on Oct 3 and Central Hardin on Oct 24. Both district games.
