Lloyd Memorial [Down 3] T-24. North Bullitt [Up 1] *Top 6 were the same from last week. *I guess the media doesn't consider out of state losses to be real, as I was surprised Warren Central moved up, even though Hazard lost as well. *Unusual for a team that wasn't even receiving votes to jump into the top 15, but Danville Christian's week was rewarded as such. *16-T-24 are "receiving votes" in the actual poll. 1
DragonFire Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 Bluegrass Scoreboard in text form so you don't have to suffer as I did: 1. St. X 2. Great Crossing 3. Frederick Douglass 4. Bryan Station 5. DragonFire Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 *Someone needs to let Nations Elite know that if you have two teams tie for a position (as they have at 12th), that your ranking after that skips a number. My rankings on theirs beyond 12th reflect that proper positioning. For instance, Adair County is 14th, not 13th as they have in their graphic. *As usual, St. X is a consensus #1 across the board. Great Crossing and Frederick Douglass continue as consensus #2 & #3. Bryan Station moved back up to 4th in a majority of polls, in contrast with last week where they were #4 by average but rated as such in only one poll. They are a consensus top 5 team. *As with last week, Marshall County would be consensus top 5 if not for Kentucky High School Sports Zone. They have moved up 9 spots in that poll in the last two weeks, so presumably if they stay unbeaten for long enough, they'll get there. *In addition to the top three, Bryan Station, Marshall County, and Hazard were in every top ten. Warren Central (KYHSZ 15) were in four of five top tens, and Manual (KSR 11, Bluegrass Scoreboard 12) were in three of five top tens. *Green County barely held onto the top 25 in the KYHSZ poll, rated exactly 25th there. They are not rated lower than 12thn in any other ranking, and appear in two top tens. *Ballard and Clinton County are two teams that stand out in wide variance of rankings. Ballard is rated 10th by KSR and 11th by the media and Bluegrass Scoreboard. Nations Elite has them rated 25th while KYHSZ doesn't rank them at all. Clinton County is rated as high as 9th by KSR, Nations Elite and Bluegrass Scoreboard have them 12th and 10th respectively. The media had them just below the top 25 (26th if going by receiving votes) and KYHSZ has them 24th. *Adair County is unranked by KSR and Bluegrass Scoreboard, while Nations Elite has them 14th and the media have them 20th. Kentucky High School Sports Zone? SIXTH. It's the highest ranking for a team that was not rated by all five outlets, just ahead of Clinton County's 9th ranking by KSR. *Green County's 25th by KYHSZ is the lowest individual ranking of any team that was rated by all five outlets. *For the first time this year, the unicorn love is really spread around. Usually, it's KYHSZ that has the majority, as their rankings are frequently inexplicable. We have four unicorns this week (a team that was rated by only a single outlet). Cooper graduates from this status as they are up to four oulets, as does Newport which were rated by Nations Elite in addition to KYHSZ this time. Boyd County (KYHSZ 18) continues to be a team that is only loved by KYHSZ. The others are North Oldham (NE 22), Jeffersontown (KSR 23), and North Bullitt (Media 24), with North Bullitt remaining a unicorn from last week by the same source. Clay County falls out of the ranks entirely this week. *14 teams were consensus rated (down from 18 last week): St. Xavier Great Crossing Frederick Douglass Bryan Station Marshall County Warren Central Hazard Manual Covington Catholic Danville Christian Green County Ashland George Rogers Clark Calloway County *LaRue County had been the lowest average rank of consensus rated for two weeks, and would have been this week (likely) if they were ranked by Nations Elite. This week the lowest consensus rated team is Calloway County, with an average ranking of 16th, high of 13th, and low of 18th. *Every week I see Great crossing, Frederick Douglass, and Bryan Station in the top five, and think "Wow, the 11th Region tournament is going to be incredible." 2 2
Mr. Sixer Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Well I guess you gotta rank everybody somewhere lol. I hope that Cooper continues to just hang on to that Dark Horse label. Kind of funny that they’ve beaten both CovCath and Lloyd yet fall below CCH in every poll and Lloyd in a couple. Can’t wait for March! 1
nikeman49 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Still can’t believe Hazard is in top 10, teams below them, and many, would beat them 20 pts or more.
IndianAlum81 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 "*Adair County is unranked by KSR and Bluegrass Scoreboard, while Nations Elite has them 14th and the media have them 20th. They have wins over Bowling Green, George Rogers Clark and Trinity all ranked ahead of them plus a good Campbell County and but weird loses to Cumberland County and Russell County.

No disrespect to DCA but Ashland beat them in late December. Ashland hasn't lost since and is riding a 10 game winning streak. DCA beat Hazard who did beat Ashland but that was at the very beginning of the season when Ashland had a depleted roster from football and injuries and lost five of their first eight games. Their recent common opponent is Lincoln County that DCA struggled with and Ashland beat by 50+ points. The math doesn't add up. Again, not that it matters but the "media" seems misinformed or just not doing their homework.
rerun Posted January 30 Posted January 30 LOL, just saw the "Bluegrass Scoreboard", whatever that is, has DCA at 7 and Ashland at 21. Again, no disrespect to DCA but this is comical. 1
