Carl Spackler Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 I was listening to One Shining Podcast this morning (great college basketball podcast), and they said that the SEC is 30-4 vs the ACC in head to head matchups this season. They were discussing UNC, and how their in conference schedule would not be as helpful in the NET Ratings as in previous years. So it wasn't really an SEC vs ACC comparison. The hosts are actually ACC guys. They also said that the SEC has played it's best out of conference schedule collectively ever. They were estimating 10+ NCAA invites. I never thought that I would see the day that the SEC would be considered a better basketball conference than the ACC.
TheDeuce Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 It only took Rick Pitino, Roy Williams, Coach K, Jim Boeheim and Tony Bennett not coaching in the league any more. LOL That's the difference. The SEC collectively has better coaches right now. And money of course. They always have more money. 2

If we're going off tournament bids as the deciding factors, the ACC hasn't been a top 3 league since 2019. Big 12, SEC, and Big 10 have all passed them in terms of overall quality of the league.
