BALLARD MEMORIAL BOMBERS

I'm gonna say it right now...if I was ever a football official for a Ballard Memorial game, I'm automatically calling a sideline warning on the head coach the first play of every one of their games that I officiate simply because they have that killer of a logo out there and it isn't being used in any way, shape, or form on their helmet. I mean, come on! Seriously! How do they not have that bomb on the side of their helmet? Or maybe even use just the teeth and the eye kinda like Air Force did with the A10-Warthog nose art back a couple-few seasons ago. That is DYING to get put onto those boring plain green helmets!

Yep.... preach at 'em.

Not a whole lot of truly original logos and helmet designs in this bunch. CWB I'm counting 18 helmets here and the only original logos and designs I'm seeing are Atherton (maybe), Belfry, Berea (which is still really close to Tampa Bay Bucs), and Bethlehem. Most are pretty direct lifts off of someone else, eg - Adair, Allen Co, Apollo, Ashland, Ballard, Bardstown, Beechwood, Bellevue.

Adair Co: FSU Seminoles
Allen Co-Scottsville: New England Patriots
Anderson Co: Brigham Young
Apollo: Anheuser-Busch
Ashland: Arizona Wildcats
Atherton: Is that original? Seems like I've seen that A logo somewhere but I can't place it.
Ballard: UCLA logo & LSU helmet design
Ballard Memorial: Plain Jane
Bardstown: Clemson
Barren Co: Plain Jane
Bath Co: Maryland, kinda.
Beechwood: Clemson
Belfry: Original logo
Bell County: Florida Gators
Bellevue: Cincinnati Bengals
Berea: Original I guess?
Bethlehem: Original logo
Betsy Layne: Tough to call a couple of big letters an original logo.

There is oftentimes a good bit of borrowing from college and NFL programs. You jogged my memory to the fact that the last time I did a helmet logo roundup like this, I kept a few "helmet stats," keeping track of how many helmets had the following:

- Helmet design based around a single letter for their school name as the primary logo.
- Helmet design based around the first letters of multiple words as the primary logo.
- Helmet design with the school name and/or mascot name written out in text as the primary logo.
- Helmet design with just a player number on their helmet. No other logo.
- Helmet design with just a mascot graphic on their helmet. No other text or numbers.
- Helmet design with a blank helmet or only a stripe down the center of the helmet.
- Helmets with the "winged" helmet design.
- Helmets with the Clemson paw print in their helmet design.

I've gotta think there were a ton of Clemson paws. I don't know how many helmets I've seen with only player numbers, but there are plenty out there with player numbers on one side and logos on the opposite side. What were your final stats for all of those?

I had to go back and re-tally things. These are the final counts from the last time. I guess I'll try to track more or less the same stuff this go-round as I post the updated helmet designs.

(49) teams with a helmet design based around a single letter for their school name or mascot name as the primary logo.

(33) teams with a helmet
design based around the first letters of multiple words from their school name or mascot as the primary logo.

(18) teams with a helmet design using the school name and/or mascot name written out in text as the primary logo.

(7) teams with helmets only featuring the player's number on their helmet. No other logo.

(52) teams with a helmet design featuring only a graphic of the mascot or school logo.
 No other text or numbers.

(38) teams with either a completely blank helmet, or a blank helmet with a stripe down the center.

(3) teams with the "winged" helmet design.

(7) teams with helmets using the Clemson paw print in their helmet design.
