It sounds like they bounced back from their disapointing loss to Hazard.

Someone told me that Cox only attempted six shots in this one :creepy:. If June Buchanan wants any chance of winning the region, they have to get him involved more. From what I've seen recently, Clark's younger brother has become the second option on offense. I'm not saying he will or he won't, but I do think that Cox would be better off some place else.

Everyone always knew that Cox was the key to this team. He has a good shot, handles the ball well, and passes better than anyone I have ever seen. Teams are starting to key on him more and more and let the Stepps shoot them out of games. Little Stepp is a streaky shooter and if he misses his first couple, he continues to shoot which hurts the team greatly. Big Stepp appears to get a little jealous of his younger brother when he hits a couple of 3's in a row so he has to try and match him which is also not good for the team. If they don't get Cox back involved in this team, they don't have a chance of winning the region and may have a greater chance of him leaving from what I'm hearing. Although they got a great win against a good Cordia team, things are still not they way they should be at Crusader camp.

Did James Taylor play for Cordia? If not, there is your 16 point difference. I did not see him in the box score.

These three players could dominate for other teams but JBS coaches have decided to not use their huge size advantage and their best shooter in the offense. The two big guys for JBS could have scored anytime they wanted in this game but I guess that is not in the master plan. I hate to be critical but that is what I honestly saw.

Taylor did not play but if JBS had thrown the ball inside this would have been a more one sided game. They threw the ball inside a few times and Collins and Short scored with ease every time. I think Clark Stepp shot the ball around 28 times. It is a shame to see such a great team go to waste. I really feel sorry for the kids...JMHO

To correct myself, Josh Taylor is the big man for Cordia. His brother James graduated last year. I would have to imagine a totally different ball game between these two teams with him on the floor. IMO, Cordia is probably one of the best 5 - 13 teams in the state. They are a highly dangerous team and when they are playing as a whole, they can beat anyone in the 14th.

Cordia does have a good team and the Hurt kid shot the lights out. Cordia played good team ball and JBS played very selfish. JMHO

I don't mean to sound critical but I don't think they would dominante anyone. I liked Collins, seems like a solid player, not dominant, but solid. The big man Collins seemed physically weak and although sort of smooth, fairly easiliy handled by a decent sized, strong player. The other fellow, Short, didn't really register in my memory from the Hazard game. It was only one game, but that is the impression I came away with. As for the Steps? Clark is a decent ball handler but takes some of the worst shots I've ever seen, as if trying to draw a foul on each try. To be for real he needs to actually challenge the defenders and take solid shots. The younger Step has a nice set shot but defense was unimpressive and only fair ball handling ability at this point.

I saw JBS at the WYMT and they played very well but from all the threads it appears as if they have become disfunctional. Is there any possibility of putting Humpity Dumpity back togeather again or is their team unity shattered beyond repair? If so it would be a shame because they have a very nice collection of players.

ever since the WYMT JBS is somewhat, falling apart, or something, but a good win in this game, and with Taylor, JBS still would have won this game, IMO, Cox should take around 12-15 shots a game, if not more, he only gets about 14 points a game, when he should be getting around 20-24, but he will come along, and play like he always does.

You actually did watch the worst game that these kids have played in their lives. Collins and Short both could dominate but they usually go out of the game with 4 minutes to go in each quarter. In the Hazard game Short had 5 points and 5 rebounds in the first 4 minutes and went out. If these two got to play the whole game they could easily combine for 30and 20 if they would throw them the ball.

I think the problems started right after the WYMT when the younger Stepp started to play a significant amount of time. I think alot of the players and fans feel like he did not earn the position but was just given it. He can sometimes get hot and shoot the lights out but if he is not shooting he doesnt stop shooting. The biggest problem is that the shots that he is taking are the ones that Cox used to get. This team in my opinion was much better when Hall started at forward along with Collins and Short and had Cox and Stepp at guards. This team got an unbelieveable amount of rebounds and blocks and was discarded to get more time for the younger Stepp.

I think the jury is still out on what direction this team will go......I guess all teams have their own problems.....
