Frederick Douglass will take on Great Crossing in the semis of The Billy Hicks Classic at Great Crossing. It should be a good game between 2 of the better teams in the 11th region. I will be interested to see how the Broncos stack up this season with Boone transferring to Woodford and Chenault not playing due to getting ready for college football. The winner will play the winner of the Covington Catholic and Scott County winner on Saturday.

Great Crossing Warhawks (4-0, Consensus State #1)
?? | UK commit and Mr. Basketball favorite Malachi Moreno leads the Warhawks in scoring (22 ppg) and rebounding (16.5 pg), with guard Vince Dawson averaging just shy of 20 ppg. Those two, along with Junius Burrell, combined for 61 of Crossing's 71 points in the five point win over Douglass a year ago.

Frederick Douglass Broncos (2-0, KYSportsZone #13)
? | Wofo transfer Jaunte Jenkins paces the Broncos at 20 ppg, followed by DeMarcus Surratt's 15.5. That backcourt duo combined for 50 points in the win over Ballard on Wednesday.

A good game with Great Crossing winning 78-70. Great Crossing lead 23-12 after the first quarter. Great Crossing led 13-2 early in the quarter. It was the Warhawks leading the Broncos 39-33 at the half.

In the 3rd quarter Douglass took their first lead of the game at 41-39 just a minute and 20 minutes into the quarter. The rest of the quarter was probably the best ball of the night as both teams traded the lead back and forth. The quarter came to an end with Douglass leading 53-51. In the 4th quarter Douglass had the lead at 63-58 with 5 minutes to play and had their last lead at 63-60 with 4:44 left. The Warhawks went on a 10-0 run and lead the Broncos 68-63 in under two minutes of game time. Douglass cut the lead to 4 at 74-70 with about 1:30 to play. The Warhawks scored the last 4 of the game to win 78-70.

Great Crossing improves to 5-0 and the Broncos lose their first game of the season and falls to 2-1. Great Crossing will take on Covington Catholic in the finals tomorrow at 1:00pm. The Broncos will take on fellow 42nd district foe Scott County in the 3rd place game tomorrow at 11:30am.
