Looks like Scott missed out on a great coach…

They did hire him...so it's kind of hard to say they missed out....the problem is he left a couple weeks into the season. I'd say they'd have been better off if we had never even heard of Jake Owens. It's hard to blame Scott for hiring him, because it's obvious the guy can coach, and no one could have predicted he would have left before the season even started. But in hindsight, that hire did some damage to the program that is going to take some time to recover from.

I would say that the instability of the school administration. Along with the countless miss hires of the past decade have done the damage. Basically since Coach Woolley stepped down, it's been a mess.

Isn't something along the lines of 6 principles and 5 head coaches in 10 years?

5 coaches in the last 7 years, 3 in the last 2 years. I wouldn't say the problem stretches back a whole decade..it only been 4 years since a trip to the region final, and less than it's only been 8 or 9 years since they were one play from beating Johnson Central and going to a state semi-final. Woolley has only been gone 6 years.  But the last 3 years have been a pretty bad stretch, where they really haven't been competitive. The principal issue is on the school district, but that has been a revolving door since Sapp stepped away a few years ago, and somehow got worse with what just happened with the latest incident that just happened a couple of weeks ago. The thing is, Scott is still doing well or at least is competitive in most other sports. It's not like there aren't any athletes walking around the building.

Just an Update on Scott's Past/Former Coach of a few months/weeks Jake Owens. In his first full year as head coach after leaving Scott to go back to Florida, he took an 1-8 team last year to 9-3 this year. His team also just won the Florida State Championship for 1A.  Congrats.
