Brenden Anthony (Pikeville, RB/LB)
Forever seared in the memories of Pikeville opponents are the galloping footsteps of figures like Deramus, Hackney, Coleman, Pugh, and Birchfield.

A full season of good health would see Anthony enthusiastically chiseling his likeness alongside those busts in the mountainsides of Pike County.

His senior year hasn't unfolded how he might have envisioned, but last week saw an encouraging sign that he may be rounding into form for the stretch run.

Pikeville rode its horse to victory over a game Hazard squad. His 211 rushing yards included a third quarter 80 yard sprint to darkness that gave the Panthers breathing room they would not surrender. It was his second touchdown of the night and kept Hazard at bay through the final whistle.

And he gives as good as he gets, breaking the school record for career tackles previously held by Tim Honaker of the late 80s Pikeville dynasty.

Season to date: 88 carries for 784 yards and 7 TDs | 2 receiving TDs | 86 tackles | 9 TFL | 2 sacks

Second Team All-Watchlist
Luke Pennington (Sayre, QB)
You can count on one hand the number of misfires produced by Pennington's right arm over the last two weeks. In fact, one finger will do the job.

He completed 15/16 passes for 225 yards and four touchdowns against Eminence last Friday, bringing his two week total to 35 completions on 36 attempts.

That run of dead-eye accuracy has raised his completion percentage five points to 80.1%. That's a state record if it holds up through the end of the season.

Precision clearly runs in the family, as his dad twice led the NFL in completion percentage.

At some point - as the Pikevilles and Racelands of the world enter the chat - the passing lanes and windows will become more narrow, and Pennington won't have forever and a day to go through his reads or wait for Brock Coffman to run himself open.

Season to date: 125/156 for 1,855 yards and 36 TDs with 0 INTs | 3 rushing TDs
Highlights: vs. Eminence

Third Team All-Watchlist
Brady Atwell (Owensboro Catholic, QB)
Completed 20 of 24 attempts for 275 yards and five touchdowns against Fort Campbell.

District play totals: 78% for 873 yards and 15 total TDs/1 INT.

Atwell's five touchdown tosses move him past Corey Robinson, Tim Couch, and Ricky Bowling for 3rd place on the all-time list behind Sindelar and James.

Season To Date: 148/218 for 2,245 yards and 32 TDs with 5 INTs | 333 rushing yards and 10 TDs

Honorable Mention
Montavin Quisenberry (Boyle County, ATH)
He caught four passes for 70 yards and a score, plus a rushing touchdown on his only carry against Wayne County. After 13 combined offensive touches across the last three district games, it's time to ramp up Q's involvement as Frederick Douglass comes calling this week.
Season to date: 44 carries for 448 yards and 9 TDs | 34 catches for 623 yards and 11 TDs | 1 passing TD | 1 KR TD | 24 Tackles | 3 INTs

Cortez Stone (Central, RB)
Ran for 164 yards and four touchdowns against LaRue County. Stone has demoted a pair of former Crimson Tide - Shaun Alexander and MadSouth's Damien Harris -  on the all-time rushing list in the last two weeks.
Season to date: 128 carries for 1,397 yards and 23 TDs | 2 passing TDs

Deuce Bailey (Bowling Green, QB)
Bailey helped the Purples keep their collective boot on the throat of Greenwood with three touchdown passes.
Season to date: 121/192 for 2,100 yards and 31 TDs with 5 INTs | 2 rushing TDs

Brock Coffman (Sayre, ATH)
It was an eventful night against Eminence: caught five balls for 75 yards and a touchdown, housed a punt, forced a fumble, and decapitated an opposing player.
Season to date: 57 receptions for 923 yards and 18 TDs | 2 KR TD | 33 tackles | 4 INTs including a pick-six
Highlights: vs. Eminence

Jack James (Paducah Tilghman, QB)
Threw for 322 yards and five scores against Calloway County. District play totals: 67% for 1,500 yards and 25 TDs/0 INTs.
Season to date: 212/311 for 2,820 yards and 39 TDs with 4 INTs | 4 rushing TDs

Connor Hodge (Christian Academy of Louisville, ATH)
Hodge bounced back post-Central with 267 passing yards and three touchdowns on 18/23 attempts against Elizabethtown.
Season to date: 154/226 for 2,192 yards and 21 TDs and 7 INTs | 455 rushing yards and 9 TDs | 2 INTs
Highlights: vs. E-Town

Clay Hayden (Beechwood, QB)
Hayden threw two touchdown passes against Bracken County, placing him atop the career list for NKY quarterbacks with 106.
Season to date: 121/180 for 1,961 yards with 35 TDs and 4 INTs

Kade Elam (Corbin, QB)
Threw for 277 yards and three touchdowns against Perry County Central. Elam completed 88% of his passes in district play, raising his season rate to 76%.
Season to date: 140/184 for 2,405 yards and 26 TDs with 3 INTs | 266 rushing yards and 9 TDs
Highlights: Regular Season

Great work @DevilMayCare!

To everyone else, is there anyone not listed above you think should be up for consideration for Mr. Football this year?

Did the state championships yesterday affect this list?

This particular list is from late October. I'll have a state finals version out by Tuesday at the latest.

Everyone that played yesterday that's been featured in here this year played well to varying degrees. No one laid an egg.

If I had to single anyone out... I think Brock Coffman's stock probably rose more than anybody's.
