Greenwood scores first and last. And plays very hard.
Bowling Green looked like they were sleepwalking for at least the first quarter but finally got some semblance of offense and defense going.
Jaxon Smith was the star for BG tonight with a couple TDs and an INT.
BG clinches 2nd in the distrct and a home playoff game for sure.
On to St X!

It has been 20 years since Greenwood has even gotten within single digits of the Purples. Only twice during that span have they been within 20. I just don’t know what it would take for them to be competitive here. It’s kind of a shame because Greenwood has made great strides as a program, but they just have a ceiling they cannot break through. And that ceiling wears gold helmets.

I’ve been “around” GWood athletics since the doors opened, and the obsession with BG had always blown my mind… in all sports.

@TheBarber coming up on what a quarter of a century since the school has been built? Think it’s more of a tip of the cap to the success the Purples have had in that time frame and trying to reach that level rather than being “obsessed”.

I hear what you’re saying. I can tell you , it’s “gotta beat BG” and “beat the purples” for years and years. This is the 35th yr of the school. Every sport. It’s never been like that for any other school. For me, personally, WC was my biggest rival during my days.
