A glorious weekend of football. 
 

The UK Wildcats won their first road game against a Top 10 opponent since 1977 as they defeated Ole Miss 20-17.  

 

I was 3 years old and a new resident to the state of Kentucky at the time.  

 

Again, my apologies to the UK football team and their fans for my claims after the South Carolina debacle.  

 

My outlook is stained by decades of watching UK football.  Good things never happen with them.  

 

Anyways, it is NOT basketball season just yet as the Cats continue to get better each week while making history along the way.  

 

How about those Cats!!!!!!

 

The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide played in what is being billed as an instant classic.  

 

The Crimson Tide thwarted the Bulldogs comeback effort as they won 41-34 over the Bulldogs and are now the #1 team in the nation.  Georgia has fallen to #5.  

 

Colorado was a 14 point road underdog against UCF and won that game 48-21.  

 

The Miami Hurricanes came from behind to defeat Virginia Tech with some late game controversy. Miami won that game 38-34 and Cam Ward’s quest for the Heisman is still alive.  

 

Speaking of the Heisman, Jalen Milroe is the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy followed by Cam Ward, Travis Hunter and Boise State RB, Ashton Jeanty.  

 

Jeanty is +1000(10-1) to win the Heisman Trophy.  He has 845 rushing yards on 82 rushing attempts with 13 rushing touchdowns.  

 

After complaining about not making the playoffs last season after being undefeated, FSU has began this season 1-4 which is also their record against the spread this year.  Do what you will with that info.  I know I am.  

 

Arch Manning has taken good care of Texas in Quinn Ewers’ absence as Texas is the #2 team in the nation.  I do feel like Ewers is the right choice to be the starter for Texas.  I’m still definitely ready to see Arch Manning as the full time starter.  Their offense seems a little more potent with Ewers though.  

 

The SEC still has 5 teams in the top 10 with Ole Miss falling out of the top 10 after their loss to UK.  

 

Notre Dame defeated UL this past weekend to keep their playoff hopes alive.  

 

UL’s schedule has gotten tougher but they still have a path to the ACC Championship Game and the playoffs if they can win out.  

 

The Cardinals are ranked 22nd this week in both polls and will face SMU this weekend at home in a bounce back spot.  

 

As of today Ohio State is still the only school I feel can consistently compete with the SEC teams this year.

Louisville's loss to ND was especially frustrating because it was largely self-inflicted. They were not prepared to play, that is on the coaching staff. Played 10 times, I think Louisville wins 6-7 with this years teams. 

Fortunately, the loss is really irrelevant to the rest of the season. It's not a conference game, so Louisville can still play in the ACCCG and make the playoff with a win in Charlotte.

What did the coaches have to do with this loss? Brohm always has his teams super prepared and especially playing ND, would think extra prepared.
