Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but when the Breathitt player picked up the fumble in the end zone, tried to advance it, and was tackled shouldn't it have been a safety?

If he had picked it up in the field of play and circled back into the endzone and then got tackled, it would be a safety. At least that's how I understand it.

It looked to me like he picked it up in the endzone and was tackled there, which was a touch back. The fact that he was trying to get out, doesn't matter.

Somerset picks off Breathitt County on the opening drive of the 2nd half. On the first play after the turnover Bruner hits Cimala for a 45 yard touchdown. 21-0 Somerset with 5:47 to go in the 3rd quarter.

I think there is a momentum exception rule, where is the recovering player's momentum carries them into the end zone, and they are tackled there, it is a touchback instead of a safety.  If he had recovered, then ran into the end zone voluntarily, or had his momentum carry him into the end zone, then he came back out before going back in it would have been a safety. But since his momentum took him in, and he was not able to advance it back out, it is a touchback.

After another Somerset fumble Breathitt County puts together a nice touchdown drive.  Somerset follows that up with a 43 yard touchdown run by Kris Hughes.  But Breathitt County immediately scores on a 42 yard pass from Hollen to Sperry. 28-14, Somerset leads with 8:21 to go in the game.

Deep pass 58 yards and Breathitt answers right back.

28-14

@Carl Spackler What is the large TV on the Breathitt sideline? They watching game film on it?

I think so. Somerset has a smaller one on their sideline.

Somerset drives back down the field and Josh Bruner finishes it off with a 1 yard b run. 35-14 Somerset with 6:05; to go in the game.
