I think there are two key factors in this game. The biggest factor was the way Hazard played. They dominated every aspect of this game. The other factor would be the battle JBS went through the night before in their OT win over Buckhorn. Not enough legs. Good luck to Hazard. They have a good shot at making another run for an all a state championship. It will be tough, but possible.

You forgot Lee County. They played Hazard right down to the wire in the All A, something June Buchanan didn't do.

 

Yeah, I couldn't name them all...that's why I put "etc." in there...I didn't want to imply that just the teams I named have a chance. There are several more that could be in the thick of it if they bring their "A" game at the right time...none of the favorites have separated themselves enough to rule out the second tier of teams, IMO.

JBS lost their first game in the region in a horrible exhibition. There are no excuses to be given other that they played a terrible game. I knew when they lost a game everyone would start yelling overrated and that is okay. This is not the team that I saw play Mason,Bell, Hazard earlier,pineville,etc..

They had a bad night and maybe they can learn from this game and regroup. They are going to have to distribute the ball better and play as a team or they will be watching someone else at Rupp this year. If they do play as a team I think they have by far the most talent in the region but it is not used in the team concept.

That is true but please remember that JBS just beat Hazard real easy 2 weeks ago...seems like some people have forgot that JBS had Hazard down 19 in th 4th quarter and won easily...dont put too much into one game for either side...

Just got back from out of town..sorry to dissapoint. It was a very sad game for the JBS faithful but hopefully they will bounce back after their first loss in the region . They still have the best record in the region and hopefully will play better as a team.

Jbs should have the best record(for what it really matters) they have not played anybody but Hazard(2), Buckhorn and a decent Letcher team twice.

 

Hazard has played Pcc(3 times) Breathitt(2) Jbs(2) Leslie and a solid Lee team.

I would say Hazard is the favorite right now, but this region is so wide open that the rankings change almost every week.

I will give Hazard credit that they played great defense. This could have played a huge part of how bad JBS shot but I assure you that JBS will never have an offensive performance as bad as they did. I bet they probably shot 20 percent for the game.

I have always supported any 14th region team when they go out of the area and play and I think Hazard could do well at the ALL A...They should have an easy game in the first game and I'm not sure who they play after that but I hope they represent the 14th well. GOOD LUCK...

Great win for the Bulldogs. Hold JBS to 35 points or any high school team for that matter and you are supposed to win.

In all seriousness this region is up for grabs, before this game I thought that JBS may be the favorite but they will need to be a team and by the looks of this game they weren't in any fashion.

 

Lee county probably should have beat Hazard if not for a complete offensive slump at the end of the game. But right now Hazard is the favorite with the rest right on their heels.
