Russell County (3-2) goes to Stanford and hands Lincoln County (4-1) its first loss of the season in a nail biter.  It was the district opener for both teams.  Game was tied at 24 with about a minute to go but Russell's QB escaped a sack, rolled right, and found a receiver wide open 20+ yards downfield for a touchdown.  Russell added a 2-point conversion.  Lincoln scored a touchdown with less than 2 seconds to go on a 2 yard QB keeper but was not able to tie it with the conversion afterward.

    Steven French finally got his shot at a HC spot and I think it's paid off for Russell County so far. 

    This is the most talented group at RC since 2013. Not surprising at all they are having some success
