Anyone have any idea how many head coaches are KVCA members? It’s not an automatic membership - coaches have to join and pay. Then they can vote. 270ish volleyball teams in the state and only 34 coaches voted. I’d like for these votes to be public. I think if that was the case, coaches would put some thought into it.

In today's environment I think we are lucky to even have a poll.

I get your point. But honestly as bad as this poll is, I think we’d be better off without it.

I am aware that one of NDA's D1 players is out for the season, but putting them behind two schools that aren't located in Louisville is laughable:).

Riley McCloskey is irreplaceable. She tore up her knee in January and will likely miss the fall season. There’s still a chance she’ll play late in the season, but not at the risk of causing further damage.
That being said, NDA is still loaded. They only graduated one senior. Assumption will always be Assumption. They lost one of the best players in the state to graduation. I don’t know enough about SHA or Mercy. St. Henry graduated a ton of seniors and will need a year or 2. The top public schools keep gaining ground. Going to be a very interesting season.
I’d say:

1. Assumption

2. NDA

3. Sacred Heart

4. Central Hardin (big showing at BGSG)

5. Dunbar (always a contender)

6. Mercy (they’re bound to snap back)

That’s my top tier right now.  I haven’t seen any team in person yet so I admit this is a complete shot in the dark. Don’t get mad I left your team out, just give me a great big laugh when they prove me wrong! Absolutely nothing like volleyball in KHSAA! Best of luck to all!

I saw where #1 preseason Assumption just beat #2 preseason Sacred Heart.

that's correct. NDA beat Sacred Heart in a tournament on Saturday, then SacrecHeart went to NDA’s place and won a 5 set match. To be fair, the tournament match was a consolation match after each team had lost in the semis, and NDA was down a setter in their regular season match on Thursday. The only opportunity these teams will have to play each other again would be in the state tourney. I think the top 3 teams are pretty clear. NDA and St Henry play tomorrow 9/7, so well know more about the Crusaders after that match.
