There has been some talk that Vandagriff may think of reentering the transfer portal with Coen leaving for Tampa. I hope he stays I think it would be tough to find someone at this point of the offseason. What's anyone else think on this?

 

His father has said he is staying. 

After reading about the new OC and all of the success he has had, I don't see him leaving. If anything it sounds like this guy is an upgrade over Coen, big caveat here, as long as Stoops allows him the run the offense they way he wants.

Everyone keeps saying this but Coen and Stoops have both said it was Coens to run as he saw fit. Big issue that slowed them down a lot this past year was that Leary couldn't read defense and then make line calls. An O Lineman had to make the call at the line then Leary would go into cadence. If Leary changed a play he had to wait for O line to make a new line call. 

This was mentioned during the season by Freddie Maggard I believe. 

If he couldn’t read a defense how bad were the back ups? Did they know Leary had that weakness when he was in the portal?

He could read defenses, I think the issue was with making line calls. For some reason that wasn't in his skill set. I think at NC State he didn't do it either.
