I have seen Highlands once.....vs Newport and they were completely overwhelmed from the tip.  What areas are strengths?  What are areas they need to work on to become more competitive with the top of the region?

I too have seen one game.  There is little to no height on the team which hurts.  There just seems to be something missing and I could not put my finger on it.  I do have a question for those that are closer to situation than I, where did all of the football guys go?  It appeared from a quick look at rosters that Hicks is only footballer?  I noticed a couple frosh guys listed on JV roster but they were not dressed?

I think Carnahan plays football

There are quite a few football players on the freshman team -- Harris, Lorenzen, Williams, Jacobs, Feldebrugge, Haretuku.

Yes:  Carnohan plays football + Dominic Gregory does as well.

And to say what they are missing is SIZE!  Or at least someone who is big enough (wide) and strong to muscle their way down low (aka Chuck Hayes).  So missing Benke (tall and wide) and Carson Class (strong/wide) really is hurting the Birds this season.  If the 3s are dropping then they are in a world of hurt.

The list of Freshman coming up that Walter stated will solve some of those troubles + plus the group of 8th graders as well.  But until then....gotta hang in there!  Just hope the love of football for a lot of these kids don't override their love of basketball as well and we will be in the same boat 3 years from now saying "Where are the football players?".

Here are the 3 point stats for the Birds (excluding Cooper since those stats aren't published yet):

In the 8 wins:  75 for 180, 41.7% from 3

In the 7 losses:  44 for 154, 28.6% from 3

Tough to win if the 3s aren't falling and you don't have anyone to grab those rebounds from miss shots.
