?? | Lawrenceburg IN | Championship final at the inaugural "Ray Furney Holiday Classic."

The Wildcats sweep four games in an impressive field with some championship cred. The Fort Wayne school was last year's Indiana 2A champ. Guerin Catholic, who fell to Newport earlier today were last year's Indiana 3A runner-up. Best win of the tourney though, imo, was over New Palestine (IN) yesterday.

Newport was battle tested here and at the "King of the Bluegrass." They're going to be a handful come 9th Region tournament time.

Congratulations Wildcats!

Both teams resume play on Friday ~

Newport (12-3, KY #19*) hosts 36th District rival Highlands.

Blackhawk Christian (8-3, IN #40*) hosts Mishawaka (IN).
