Has a freshman ever led a large class team to state championship at the QB position?  There has never been one in 6A.  Trinity has never had one either.

Prior to 2006, the largest class was 4A.

I’d be interested to know if there has been any Freshmen QB in ANY class win a State Title….Based on your thread I am assuming you know there has been in other classes.

Just assuming smaller classes may have had onenat some point. Franklin Simpson may have had one several years ago.

He is in 6A and we have never had a freshman QB start any game before him...so for at least 28 of the large class finals, he is the first.

Brian never started a game as a frosh?  I guess you are right, he took over the starting job as a sophomore as I recall.

Luke Richardson was a freshman when he started at QB for FS in 2018 when they won the 4A title. I believe Riley Preece was a freshman starting at QB for Johnson Central when they beat FS in 2016 also for the 4A title. Neither one of them threw it much at all with both teams being very run-heavy but still a good accomplishment.

Geoff Riddle (senior) started all 15 that year, I believe. Heck of an athlete and super smart guy.
