The 7^th Region looks to be tough again with 5 teams ranked in the top 25 in the state according to the coaches’ poll released by the Courier-Journal. The 7th looks to have more depth this year and will be a tough region to navigate throughout the season. Last year Male won the Region 7 tournament edging out Trinity 67-65. Let’s take a look at the teams.

 

1. Trinity last season was 24-8 and look to be the top team in the 7^th Region and one of the top teams in the state. Top players:

 

1.      Andrae Vasser, 13.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg.

2.      Julius Edmonds, 11.6 ppg, 8.4 rpg. (Stats from Western last year)

3.      Jayden Johnson, 10.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg.

4.      Josiah Lawson, 8.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg. (Stats from Western last year)

5.      Alex Johnson, 6.9 ppg, 3.4 rpg.

 

 

 

2. Male last season was 26-11 and 7^th Region champions. Male will compete once again for the region championship and be one of the top teams in the state and return enough scoring to be a contender. Top players:

 

1.      Cole Edelen, 15.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg.

2.      Jayson Gasaway, 10.6 ppg,6.1 rpg.

3.      Max Gainey, 5.5 ppg, 2.3 rpg.

4.      Terrence Hall, 5.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg.

5.      Antonio Harris, 2.7 ppg, 1.2 rpg.

 

 

3.  Saint Xavier was 18-14 last year and return 6 out of 8 top players from last year and look to be a 7^th region contender this year. Top players:

 

1.      Chance Dillingham, 11.8 ppg, 1.8 rpg.

2.      Will Hanke, 10.9 ppg, 8.0 rpg.

3.      Jeremiah Jackson, 8.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg.

4.      Graham Krezmien, 8.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg.

5.      NoaSosa Friedman, 9.9 ppg, 2.0 rpg. (Stats from Collegiate last year)

 

 

4.  Ballard was 26-5 last year and look to be a contender in the region and despite being hit hard by graduating players will reload. Top players:

2.      Sefa Sackey, 7.6 ppg, .2 rpg. (Stats from Wesley Christian)

3.      Jordan Bender. (No stats from last year, Transfer)

5. Manual last year was 21-12 and look to also be a contender as they return 5 of their 8 top players. The top players:

3.      Joshua Darst, 5.6 ppg, 2.3 rpg.
