Ludlow 20 Bishop Brossart 7

The Ludlow Panthers defend the Red Turf, defeating our Brossart Mustangs 20-7 in the district seeding determination battle.

After a scoreless first half, Brossart quarterback Keegan Gulley was intercepted setting up a Ludlow score, making it 7-0 at halftime.

Ludlow marched 68 yards for a touchdown on their first offensive possession of the half, extending the lead to 14-0.  Brossart answered on a Gulley to Alex Amin touchdown pass, cutting the Panther advantage in half.  Ludlow returned the ensuing kickoff all of the way to the Brossart 6, but the Mustang defense was up to the task, and the Panthers were denied putting additional points on the board.  Ludlow put this one away midway through the fourth period when quarterback Mays connected with Spencer Brandenberg on a 27 yard aerial making the final score 20-7, handing our Mustangs our first district seeding loss.  We will travel to Bedford next Friday night to take on Trimble county.  Ludlow hosts Holy Cross.

Very nice win by Ludlow and coach McMillen!

The way it looks now the Ludlow/Holy Cross game next week will be for the one seed in that district. If Ludlow wins, they are the clear number one seed. If Holy Cross wins there would be a three way tie for first with Ludlow, Holy Cross, and Brossart. Holy Cross would probably win the tiebreaker to get the one seed based off RPI. Which currently Holy Cross is ahead of both Ludlow and Brossart in the RPI after tonight’s games. So Holy Cross would most likely stay ahead of both if they win next week and would be the one seed via tiebreaker with a win.
