Real Deal Or No Deal, The Spotlight Is On Betsy Layne

Records: BL (7-0) | SV (4-3)

BGP Rankings: SV (#7 in 2A)

Week 8 Results: BL beat East Ridge | SV beat Pike Central

Series History: Shelby Valley leads 13-2 all-time

Teaser Preview: Betsy Layne has been coasting, undefeated, against a lackluster schedule. The best start in school history will be under fire this week as the Bobcats travel to Pikeville for a date with Russ Osborne and Shelby Valley.

Osborne, Brady Bentley, and the Wildcats took Pike Central's breath away last week for an impressive 47-0 win. It's no secret who makes Valley go.

QB Carter Parsons and RB Andrew McCutcheon have been the catalysts for a Betsy Layne offense averaging 44 points per game, third best in 2A. They're hoping to see the latter version of Valley's Jekyll and Hyde defense. The Wildcats have allowed 120 points combined to Perry Central and Elizabethtown, but shut out ranked (at the time) Lawrence County and aforementioned Pike Central.

It's time to find out how legit the Betsy Layne Bobcats are. A win here would rank as the program's biggest in quite some time.
