It's not often that so many of us offer congratulations to the team who loses the game. But, Holmes has flat out earned it. They gave the Colonels one heck of a game. Clean, disciplined, controlled, respectful, fun to watch. Good ball handling. Good passing. Good shot selection and high percentages. Austin got frustrated a few times after getting mugged by the double teams, but he kept on tickin'.

Holmes will be better when the suspnsions are over and DJ returns. The cloud started hanging over the Bulldogs after the loss to Clark Co. in the Fifth/Third (seems like they played CCH next , UGLY game). Now that it will be all behind them you will see a different Holmes team down the stretch in February. I hear the suspended players have accepted their suspensions very well and have really step up in practice to get the young Bulldogs ready for these games.

I think if I'm Henly, I give my bullpups lots of playing time until districts. I think this helps their bench and also may help the studs keep their egos in check. What's really good to hear is that it sounds like the studs may finally be understanding what TEAM means.

 

And it sounds like the Bullpups did a great job against the Colonels. Better than I expected, makes me proud!

I don't think they've ever experienced suspension before. In the past, they could always blame there problems on others.

Big school, lots to chose from. Now might be the time to let the teenagers know who is in charge. It would certainly teach young men that there is that there are rules in life as well as on the court. IMO these boys (and I do mean boys) should have a second chance if they haven't already! Punish, forgive, but don't forget if this is their first problem.
