Rockets Venture Into Enemy Territory For Border War With Braves

Records: Both are 1-0

BGP Rankings: Union County (#10 in 3A)

Week 1 Results: CC beat Webster County 31-8 | UC beat Madisonville-North Hopkins 21-14

Series History: Union County leads 13-7 dating back to 1998

Home of the Brave: Union County has won 17 of its last eighteen games in Morganfield and the Rockets haven't tasted victory on tribe soil since 2007. The rivalry hasn't been decided by a single digit margin in nearly that long (2008). A lot of blowouts in the series since then, mostly with the Braves on the winning end.

Players to watch: Jarren Johnson ran for 208 yards and three scores in Week 1 for Union County. Rockets quarterback Micah Newcom accounted for 320 total yards and two rushing touchdowns last week. His favorite target was Caden Howard, who snagged six balls for 145 yards.

When scanning the schedule for this week, this one caught my eye. Should be one of the better games in WKY on Friday. Anyone from out that way know much about the history between these two schools?

I wasn’t impressed with either week one game Webster is usually really bad and CC only won by 23 and MNH haven’t been good as of late not horrible but very average and UC only won by 7.

Bump.
