January 20, 200719 yr It will be interesting to see if you are feeling the same way if there is yet another early exit in March. Maybe Fletch can start a thread about Cat fan's January euphoria in late March (I doubt it). I'll still feel the same way. I've been a huge Tubby supporter and that is not going to change anytime soon.:thumb:
January 20, 200719 yr That's a big IF. Not to mention my definition of 'early exit' may not be the same as yours. Regardless, Im happy with the direction this team is going and it would likely take more than an early exit this year to change my mind. Its funny to see that Tubby has talked down the expectations of the Cat faithful if not making the final four for a record number of years is now OK. Back when I was in college UK expected to play for the natinal title every year. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Some are OK with it, some are pretty angry about it.

You seem to be more concerned about it than the UK fans. Truth is, UK has went just as long as they currently have without a trip to the final four multiple times in their history. Throw in the fact there there is more pairity in college basketball than ever before and you have your reason why THIS UK fan is not concerned. However I have never been one of the fools that expected to play for a NC every year. It's just not something that is possible, at this day in time.
January 20, 200719 yr Only?? It's one of the largest arenas in the NCAA. Lately they have been up there in terms of total attendance. A few years ago UK and UL were numbers 1 and 2 in average attendance for the season. Im well aware that lately UL is up there with the best of them, even though it hasn't always been the case. Either way, it was just meant as a little humor for the UL fans, you shouldn't take me so seriously. I do remember some large corporation giving away tickets for UL football years ago. Im not sure if it was Papa Johns, but the shoe fit. Lately? That is not a lately thing that is the way it has been most all my life. You are flat wrong about Cardinal Basketball, like I said back in the early 80's Gas stations would give away game tickets with fill ups, but that is like 20 years ago. And large corparations do buy tickets to Louisville, and UK and every other football program, and give them out to employee's customers and as prizes, that happens everywhere. Papa Johns as a large corperate sponser does this not only for U of L but also for UK, infact Tom Jurich went to the UK U of L game last year and both he and Barnhart were in Papa John's box. TWOONE my feelings aren't hurt at all I am just always surprised at the amount of misinformation there is out in the State about Louisville. U of L basketball has had a strong and loyal following in Basketball since the 50's, whether or not the team was winning, the Football situation on the other hand had been weak until Howard came in the second half of the 80's and then it suffered a two year set back with Cooper otherwise it has been building every year. The thing is alot of people out there hear these jabs that are either 20 plus years old or that have never been true they think that they still have any meaning and that is just sad. It would be like me saying that UK can't beat Tennessee in Basketball, just because the Vols football team has beaten them 20+ years straight.

Your getting all bent out of shape over nothing. I stated nothing but the truth in my post that you quoted. I said that UK and UL were numbers 1 and 2 in average attendance a few years ago. I said that UL has been up there with the best of them lately. I said that has not ALWAYS been the case. I didn't know I was going to be throwing a bucket of hot water on your feathers by trying to compliment UL's program. Some of you UL fans are way to touchy.
January 20, 200719 yr Give me the dates. 66-75 and 84-93 off the top of my head.. As I said, Im not to concerned about it, we're not in a crisis, it's happened before, and it'll happen again. It's nice to know that your so concerned about UK athletics these days though.

I am not getting touchy, only pointing out the fact that Louisville has great attendance, and that it is not a "lately" occurance, it has been for years. UK, Syracuse and Louisville for most of the last 20 years and both UK and Syracuse have much bigger arenas. I will not hold you personally or your entire fan base accountable only the post I find inaccurate.:thumb:

It's nice to know that your so concerned about UK athletics these days though. I'm pretty sure those are the only two and last season tied that record. So Tubby is on the clock unless he wants to hold the record by himself. Is this era the longest without a final four without probation?

Is this era the longest without a final four without probation? You really hate UK don't you? You based an argument on your bias opinion of UK. I based mine on facts. So then you edit your post that questioned my accuracy. What I stated was true yet you still can't leave it alone. I honestly don't see why your so concerned about it. I have yet to hear a UK fan even mention the topic.
January 20, 200719 yr I am not getting touchy, only pointing out the fact that Louisville has great attendance, and that it is not a "lately" occurance, it has been for years. As did I point out that UL has had good attendance recently. I guess whether you want to consider it lately or not just depends on what you would consider recent. I remember UL's attendance being pretty poor during Crum's last few years, but it has been excellent since Pitino's arrival. Which is why I said lately.

Which is why I said lately.I had student ticket during Crums last few years and only in the last two was there any dip and it was still great by college standards. It has never been bad even at the worse times. It just wasn't. It's like saying the New England Patriots have been good lately, because last year they weren't in the AFC championship game.

I am just pointing out the fact the joke never made any sense, and why.:thumb: I promise there is more than enough good material to gig the Card's basketball team on right now, like the fact that we are shooting horrible shots, not playing good defense and the last fifteen top recruits Rick has pulled in either never showed up, never panned out, or have been hobbled.
