Didn't mean that as an insult but I feel defense makes a big difference and I feel Eastern Ky teams dwell more on offense than defense and in the end it's usually the defense that makes the difference. Hey, if your there at the State Tourney and I hope you are , I'll be for you 100%. I'm just saying those Louisville schools are pretty tough. good luck. I thought Bell should have pressed more. JBS had a tough time beating the press late and often was out of control.

JBS has not played against a team this year that has a press as good as Bell. They are very athletic and never seem to tire. JBS needs to look at game film on this one and make some necessary adjustments to this part of their game.

I think thats a pretty unaccurate statement that Eastern Ky teams dwell more on offense. In all honesty teams in Lville and Lexington areas are better because they are more athletic for the most part.

Once again, he was asked to play after his plans were known. The team/staff made that call.

 

Its like I said, I dont care whos fault it is, he should have never been on the court if he was not going to finish the season. If he was asked after he said he would not be back after Christmas than he shouldnt have been asked.

Slusher was asked to play last year after he returned from the AA in January and refused because it was so late and he didn't think it was fair.

And as I have said, it is the WRONG thing for the TEAM. And I also have heard Coach Whitaker is now upset about it. Slusher took minutes from other players who could be developing.

It is what it is and Bell needs to put this behind them and move on. They need to concentrate on the rest of the year and they cant do that if they dont move on. Bell has a great amount of talent and they can make a run for the 13th. You can't change the past but you have a say so about the future.

Yes I agree. And I know Bell's players arent laying around feeling sorry for themselves. I know they are working hard and are playing pretty well.

Slusher didn't take anything from anybody. Furthermore, it certainly isn't his fault if he was able to start over someone else. He was begged to play. His parents were asked. They wanted him and knew the consequences. If they gambled hoping he wouldn't get to go....their fault.

Slusher told Coach Whitaker that he had every intention of leaving before he ever started playing. They wanted him to play as long as he could. Brent was upfront and everyone knew about it.

He didn't just up and leave them.

If this is true, then the coach has lost his mind for playing the kid. This would set a team back several weeks.

I must have watched a different game than everyone else. It look to me that JBS was getting some wide open layups. I don't know if they should have pressed at all. JBS coach did a better job at the end of the game coaching.

Im not bashing Brent. Im not goint go get on here and bash a highschool kid anyways. Its just a bad situation for the basketball team. It was a mistake having him play, simply put.
