Danville 57 Lincoln County 55

Final in Stanford.

There will be some different narratives of this game. Yes, Alcorn played sick and was throwing up when he got subbed, but Danville deserves a ton of credit. They played desperate, Lincoln did not other than the final 4 minutes when the game tightened up.

District tournament time is a week and a half away and the 45th is looking murky. Yes, Lincoln, DCA, and Boyle look poised but Danville reminds us all they're a scary team tonight. They defended very well.

Ads stepped up huge in this game! McKinney has them playing well and after tonight I don’t see Lincoln winning Region. The top Dawg just got back to back district losses and have lost 3 straight. 45th is wide open.

Lincoln is still the favorite to win. Alcorn played with the flu. Danville did a great job on Simms, Nuchols and Ralston. Will Bishop played some big mins tonight. If I'm Ed McKinney I'm playing through Barnes and Bryant the rest of the year. Those 2 are clearly the best two offensive players they got. They played some great man to man defense tonight on Lincoln. If you take away the 3 ball from Lincoln County you can beat them. Boyle and Danville both done that.

Danville always has athletes, which makes them a threat.  This is a great win for them on the road.  More evidence that the 45th District tournament will be wild, possibly the best district tournament in the whole state worth watching from top to bottom in a few weeks.

Danville tried every way possible to give that game away. Ads need to take some notes from Lincoln County on how to hold the ball for 3 minutes.

Alcorn played with the flu?! So he was on the court exposing everyone else to the flu? Why wouldn’t Coach Jackson (or his parents) sit him out? They are already number one in the district, this game didn’t mean anything for seeding. Why risk his health or those around him? He was obviously sick the entire game, and the announcers talked about it the whole time.

Probably because he wanted to play on senior night. Obviously he felt good enough to play.

So that means expose everyone else to a contagious disease? The announcers commented multiple times that he wasn’t feeling good and was having to muster up energy by kneeling down, etc. It was stated above he played with the flu, not that he was getting over it but that he had it last night. Doctors take people off work and school when they have the flu, so that it doesn’t spread. I’m not blaming the kid, he’s just that- a kid who wanted to play on senior night. But his parents and coaches should not have let him if he still had the flu.

Maybe he was just getting over the flu, all I know he was playing sick. It made a difference because he had to come out a lot. I'm sure Coach Jackson made sure he was good to go before putting him out there. They game didn't decide anything, Lincoln is still the #1 seed and Danville is the #5 seed. They might meet up again in a couple of weeks in the tournament.
