Pretty solid schedule for the Dragons. The Dragons were pretty young last year at some major spots, but still had a very solid season overall, but I still have to think it was a semi let down after the previous year. The Dragons also have to replace some good players, none more so than District Player of the year Blake Houchens, who Led the team in rushing yards along with being almost unblock able on the defensive side of the ball and being top 5 in 2a in sacks and forced fumbles. Combine that with the lose of Ferguson and Slinker and the defense lost three of its best players.

The Dragons do return a huge amount of the team on offense, to include 4 of 5 starting linemen, TE Kelson Mckinney, QB Houston Hodges, Running backs Julian Seymour and Running back Gage Bale. The Dragons lost the best two receivers on the team in Zach Ferguson and Slinker, but have a very large class of soon to be sophomores who should step into those roles well.

The defensive side of the ball is where the Dragons will need to improve tremendously, the Dragons gave up entirely to many large chunk plays and couldn't stop the run at all. The Dragons again lost Slinker, Houchens, Ferguson, Kessler and Corbin on the defensive side of the ball, but again return a very large group of freshman who should fill the void across the defensive front, the secondary is where I expect the Dragons to struggle.

All in all, I'm not sure what to expect from this years team, they return enough to be very good, but also lost enough that they could have a major let down this season. Time in the weight room and young men buying in to the system will tell the tale of how this season goes. Should be a fun year in Dragon Country.

I think Green will be pretty solid. They should be clear favorite to win district. Playoff run is gonna decide if they can get stops on deffense. Seymour should lead the team in most categories. I like to see McKinney moved into the back feild for some hard nose running. Hodges should be much improved, and will have just as many targets to throw to. The most important thing like last year will be deffense. Can they improve and fill the holes that SR group left? TBD.

You say they should be a clear favorite to win the district so I’m assuming Metcalfe lost most of their team. Also Monroe has a very good past in football even though they have struggled lately do you think they will show improvement this year. Don’t know how much you know about those two opponents but with them being in the same district I’m sure you have some knowledge of what they have this year.

Monroe has a couple of nice pieces. Coach P will have them boys ready to play. However I don't think they are any were near Green this year. Metcalfe has lost alot of super seniors from last year team. They return Bransetter in the backfield. Can't count Coach Harbison out. Think the battle will be Metcalfe vs Monroe for the number 2 spot. Clinton has a young team that showed alot last year but I don't think they make up that much ground this year.

It's been said for the last several years that Green co upcoming SR class is probably the most Athletic class of recent memory. Most all of the SR Class has been playing since Kindergarten. I look for strong performances from McKinney Seymour Hodges and Bell. Last season looks to have been somewhat of a let down.

Green was well Represented at the 1A State Track & Field meet. Seymour 10th in 400m Seymour, Bishop, Bell, and Shivley 7th in the 4x200 Seymour, Bishop, Bell, Marr(not in football) placed 3rd in 4x400m. MCKINNEY Wins Both Shot, and Discus. They some tanleted kids on this team for sure. Should be an exciting Year for this camp. Good luck on the upcoming season.
