Let me start off by saying Newport has a squad. Also, sorry for any name typo’s…didn’t have my glasses and I swear the keyboard on my iPhone has gotten smaller somehow. 
 

Newport starts off strong, I thought Coach Snapp had a good game plan to slow the game down and slow down Conner. I’m not going to go back and report the scores, but Newport went into the half leading. Kinney played a good controlled game in the first half and Newport just seemed quicker. Conner had some moments but in the 1st half they just were not making shots. 
 

Second half starts and Hamilton scores 6 in a row and Conner is back in it. Newport takes a breathe and again pulls away from Conner. 3rd quarter ends Newport leading. Big big game by Ben Fay off the bench for Conner. His size helped against the size Newport had. Kid made some big plays in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Lohr got in foul trouble early in the second half and didn’t return until the 4th. 
 

Newport I thought was going to close it out in the 4th but Conner seized the moment and tied it. Hamilton with big shots and Lohr with even bigger shots. Newport looked a little out of sorts and Kinney pressed his shot some and looked a little tired. I would suggest going back and watching Hamiltons layup against 3 Newport players for the and 1…unbelievable basket!  
 

How about OT!  Wow!  Big players showed up in big moments. Miller worked the inside for Newport, Kinney got his second wind, but the 5 seniors for Conner said….hold on. Tied game towards the end of the 1st OT due to a big shot by Lohr, about 10 seconds left…Kinney drives, spins and Hamilton is there to draw the charge. Conner has the ball, inbounds to half court and calls time out. Conner runs a good play but froze a little and have to force a 3…tied again at end of 1st OT. 
 

2nd OT you really saw the experience of Conner come through. Newport just forced some things and Conner made shots and more importantly free throws. 
 

Great game and Jessie Bates was in the crowd too.

The crystal was up to par on this one.  I stated in the prediction thread it would be Conner in a thriller.

Cooper varsity squad was there scouting Newport, they have a game next week vs Newport I believe.

A couple of Holy Cross players were in the house also.
