Augusta rolled to their 5th win of the season yesterday after 3 straight losses. Kylan Hinson led the Panthers with 24 points and was joined in double figures by LJ Conner with 17 and Conner Snapp with 12. Augusta finishes the month of December with back to back games at home on Wednesday and Thursday vs. St. Patrick and Carroll County. 

Greenwood is in danger of setting the longest losing streak in program history. They’ve dropped nine in a row - the record is 11. They have a pair of games against teams that are also not doing well, Apollo and Muhlenberg County. They badly need a win.

Gators lost about everything from last year’s really good club, right?

Correct - eight seniors. I’m not surprised they’re not nearly as good, but I am slightly aghast at just how bad they’ve been. 

So the school record for consecutive losses is 11?  Things aren’t looking that bad. Augusta’s record is 49 if memory serves me correct. Between the 1985-86 and 87-88 seasons. Dark dark years. It gets brought up occasionally to let the guys responsible for our more recent successes know how far forward they’ve brought our program. It’s tough after a large class graduates. Each game is just more and more experience that can only help. Wins may be sparse but they’ll come.
