Augusta 80 Robertson County 19

Final per the Scoreboard.

Ouch.

This one wasn’t ever close as Augusta jumped out to a 34-7 1st quarter lead, played everyone in uniform, and rolled to their first win of the season. LJ Conner lead the Panthers with 24 points. Will Kelsch added 11 and Kylan Hinson 10, including three dunks.

Gonna be a long season for the Devils on the heels of unprecedented success (particularly the season before last) with the best player in team history.

Yeah, it’s a far fall from the recent success they had. Such is the plight at a small school. It comes in waves. Hopefully there are some games on the schedule they can be competitive in.

It will be a long season indeed for Coach Mitchell and the boys.  I just hope that the good folks in Mt. Olivet can be patient with him.

To be noted, Jacob Burden did not play last night for RoCo.

Precisely.  Big schools can often reload with the benefit of numbers.   I would characterize the recent success of Robertson (much like that of Augusta a few years back) as “generational” for a very small school.

"generational" was the exact term I used last night during the Region Preview show.
