Red Hot Maroons Try To Keep It Rolling; Jags Still In Search Of Respect

Records: Pulaski (6-1) | North Laurel (4-2)

BGP Ranking: Pulaski (#8 in 5A)

Series History: Pulaski leads 16-2 all-time

Table Setter: The Jags swung hard and fouled off their first attempt at breaking up the Southwestern/Pulaski district stranglehold. North Laurel made strides in defeat against Southwestern, suggesting they've gained some ground on the league stalwarts. They only have to wait one week to take another hack, as the Jags make the forty minute drive west to Somerset to face the district's other top ten team, Pulaski County.

The Maroons have rolled since suffering their only loss of the season, by a field goal, to top 4A contender, Corbin. Pulaski has been potent on offense behind one of the state's best pitch and catch combinations. Quarterback Brysen Dugger and wideout Chandler Godby rank among the state leaders in passing and receiving, respectively. North Laurel hasn't forgotten how Godby worked them over in the playoffs last year, totalling 221 yards and four touchdowns on eleven catches as the Maroons ended NL's season.

Pulaski swept two meetings last year and are currently riding a ten game streak in the series.

As solid as North Laurel is, this seems to be a bad matchup for them. Wouldn’t surprise me if the Jags get the upset but I don’t expect it.

Dugger and Godby making me look good for their inclusion in the Mr. Football watchlist this week. Great throw and catch between the two for another PC score.

Godby with a nifty move for his third touchdown of the first half. That's a back breaker for North Laurel right before halftime.

Dugger with another long touchdown pass, this time to someone other than Godby. Harris Denmyer hauls this one in.

41-7 Pulaski
