BrosefStalin
Final. Beechwood, behind 8th graders Tyler Fryman, Nathan Pabst, and Cole Coppage, knocked off the Colonels in dramatic fashion Thursday night at Beechwood. Trailing 14-8 late in the 4th, the Tiger D stopped Oldham County just inside the 5-yard line on 4th-and-1 to take possession on the 4-yard line. The Tiger offense then executed a masterful 96-yard drive capped off by a 50-yard scoring strike from QB Cole Coppage to uber impressive WR Tyler Fryman, who made a spectacular catch with an Oldham County CB fighting him for the ball. That made the score 14-14. On the conversion attempt, Fryman threw a halfback option pass to WR Owen McCormack in the right corner of the end zone to give the Tigers the lead, 16-14. The Tigers other TD came on a 24-yard pass from Coppage to WR Nathan Pabst up the left seam. Pabst, who was a leader on both sides of the ball, was covered tightly by a OC safety, but he was able to tap the bail in the air to himself and bring it in for the score. Other strong performances were turned in by 8th grade TE/QB/DE Bo Sowder, freshman TB/LB Brooks Becker, and C/LB Colin Morris. Impressive come from behind win for a very young Tigers squad. Congrats to coach Doug Ashley on his first win as the Tigers freshman head coach. 3
Voice of Reason
Four of the standouts mentioned for Beechwood are 8th graders. The Beechwood pipeline looks robust.

Music to the ears of this former Tiger.
