GRC 58 North Laurel 52

North led for a large portion of the game and by 1 going into the 4th quarter so I am not sure how they 'made it closer'. They were never out of this game until there was about 19 seconds or so left in the 4th. Neither team led by more than 10 points. North's improvement from the first weeks of the season is nothing short of dramatic. I heard Coach Conway say that if the younger guys on the bench can begin to step up more and give the Jags more depth, he really likes the direction his young Jags (only 2 seniors) are heading. GRC is a very talented team and Knowles really impressed me.

Speaking of Preston Knowles, he showed me tonight why he is one of the top players in the state right now. He can pass, lightning quick, has a nice stroke, good ball handler, and can leap out of the gym. He is the real deal IMHO and one of the most talented players I have seen all season. When he hit his first few outside shots he started relying on those too much then did what Boucher stated and adjusted his game, beating defenders off the dribble, making nice passes and getting key steals and finishing. He has tons of potential.

I thought that Nick Shannon, NL's young PG really played well tonight. Knowles spent a good part of the night guarding him and really tested Shannon and he came up big. Asher made some nice passes out of the double team and the Jags will be a dangerous team come tournament time, mark it down.

All in all a very exciting game from start to finish. The GRC defense in the final few minutes was the difference in this one.

Our radio announcers kept saying what a good player Nick Shannon was. Also praised Asher for his great effort. On the post game show last night Coach Humphrey was saying that NL is improving every game and will a dangerous team come tourney time.

I agree that our defense at the end of the game was the difference in the outcome. Sounded like a great game, sorry I had to miss it. Best of luck to NL the rest of the season.

Any win at North Laurel is a good win. That place is one of the hardest places to get a fair game than I've ever seen.

Their fans should be fat cause they sure get a lot of home cooking.:dancingpa

If stenzel stays health, along with Tristan, GRC will be dangerous. According to GRC stats, Preston had 26 and Robbie had 16 points last night. ... 26 or 28, both numbers are good. ...

You've evidently not been very many places then.

Obviously never played anywhere in the Mountains then, let alone North Laurel.

Coach Conway really has his team playing alot better and his showing why he is one of the best upcoming coaches in the state. Shannon has improved so much under Conway and will only continue to get better.

I watched Knowles play last year, so I knew what to expect when I went to this game: a show. He is such a complete player and a class act kid. He was always helping the opposing players off the ground after hustle plays and showed great sportsmanship throughout the game. Clark Co. is a well coached team and good luck in the tough 10th Region.

I've been to a lot of games all around the state of KY. I'm just saying that when my teams have played at North Laurel, the games have been very lopsided in the foul situation.

I don't know when you've been there, or how many times. I will say that imo, the quality of officiating has dropped substantially since NL changed regions.
