^All I have heard this year is how good the MVC is. I'm not buying it for a second. We won't see a MVC team in the Elite 8 this year, mark it down.

Time will tell, but for the size of the schools, the MVC can ball. I don't see how they have ever been overrated, more like underrated untill now people are finally realizing their worth.

Being a long time and suffering Virginia fan, I'm biased towards the ACC being the strongest. We need to have an SEC/ACC challenge, since that ACC/Big Ten challenge is one sided. I know Kentucky and North Carolina play every year, when was the last time Kentucky went to Cameron Indoor or vice versa, would be a great game either way.

Because I'm that bored and my friend hasn't signed online yet, I dug up this useless info about the history of the MVC in the NCAA tournament.

bradley-total of 7 appearances, 9-7 record, last in 1996

creighton-total of 15 appearances, 9-16 record, last in 2005

drake-total of 3 appearances, 5-3 record, last in 1971

evansville-total of 5 appearances, 1-5 record, last in 1999

illinois state-total of 6 appearances, 3-6 record, last in 1998

indiana state-total of 3 appearances, 4-3 record, last in 2001

missouri state-total of 6 appearances, 3-6 record, last in 2003

southern illinois-total of 8 appearances, 4-8 record, last in 2005

wichita state-total of 7 appearances, 6-8 record, last in 1988

as you can see this does not include 2006, so add to those totals if you want.

the conference has an overall record of 44-62 with a total of 60 appearances going into last years tournament.

They've not been overrated until this season. Seemed like when the conference landed a couple early victories over bigger school, the bandwagon was overflowing. I just got sick of it. They'll be exposed.

Jay Bilas just moments ago on College Gameday- " They're (the MVC) overhyped."

So Jay Bilas says it, then it must be true.

The MVC proved themselves in last year's tournament and are proving again this year on the floor. They are on the verge of leaving the title "mid Major".

and we may not see a team from one of the major conferences in the elite eight either.

I voted for the SEC simply because well ummmmmmm... I am a UK fan.

I don't think you're the only one...

PAC-10 right now with the SEC being a close second. BEast is 3rd with the Little 10 and the ACC battling it out for 4th and 5th. Little 12 and MVC next.

Just showing that college basketball figureheads agree. :thumb:
