The Golden Eagles (16-21) and Camels (23-10) square off this Friday, June 3rd at 8:30pm at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington. Campbell County was a .500 team at the season's halfway mark, but have won 15 of 17 since. Johnson Central has salvaged its first losing season since 2008 by upsetting Top 20 ranked Lawrence County to claw its way back to Lexington for the second straight year.

Is Aydan Hamilton back for the Camels ?  Broken hand I believe?

No clue, but that would be a huge shot in the arm for CC if he could get back out there.

Not sure what to make of Johnson Central. The Golden Eagles are always good but I'm not sure this team is at the level of some of theirs in the past. Their best wins for most of the season was Perry County Central, Somerset, and West Jessamine; all solid but not great. However, they rolled their region tournament, winning at a 24-win Belfry team, beat a 28-win Lawrence County, and then topped Prestonsburg, who no-hit a Pikeville team many expected to win the region. I could see a scenario where Johnson Central wins; I can also see a scenario where they lose 10-0 in five innings.

This one is headed toward a mercy rule finish.

It's 13-2 Campbell County in the top of the 4th.
