The 10th Region Tournament opening rounds concludes on Thursday night with what, on paper, seems to be the most anticipated first round clash.  Bracken County edged Harrison County in mid-January by 4 points in Brooksville & many are looking for another nail-biter.

The Breds have won 10 of 12 games since that loss and are certainly hungry to avenge it.  Terence Brooks' team ran roughshod over Pendleton County & Robertson County in the 38th District Tournament.  Sophomore guard Kaydon Custard, versatile junior swingman J.D. Kendall, & athletic sophomore wing Braylon Hinton lead a balanced Harrison County attack.   

The Reed Brothers, sophomore Blake (28.7 ppg) & freshman Cayden (17.8 ppg), have been the key cogs bringing the Polar Bears to true prominence in the 10th Region.  While the Reeds deservedly get most of the attention, Bracken has a tenacious group of youngsters that can be very fun to watch.  To get a second win against Harrison County, Bracken will have to win where it started the season: Covington Holmes (the Bears lost to Holmes 75-66 on November 30th).

Will Harrison County settle the score from the January loss or will Bracken prevail again and advance to the semis?

This is a tough one, I picked Bracken yesterday in my region preview, but I’m thinking of going with Harrison today!
