North improves to 14-8; South falls to 9-12

The Mustangs win their third straight over the Dragons (though South still leads the all-time series, 19-15).

The win gives North Oldham the #1 seed for the 29th District - and, since the 29th is a 3-team district, this also gives North an automatic berth in the 8th Region tournament.

South Oldham and Oldham County will square off in an elimination semi-final game, with the winner facing North for the district title.

Dallas Roberts looked every bit a potential POY tonight, hitting 5 threes en route to a 29 point performance to lead all scorers.   Especially impressive when you consider he didn't score in the first 7 minutes of the ballgame.

Sophomore Grant Neal, who is improving by leaps and bounds for North, finished with 15 points (including four threes).

North jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the game...

North led 23-20 when Dallas Roberts missed a three, but Luke Anderson grabbed the offensive rebound and scored with 3:32 to go in the half to make it 25-20.    North finished the half on a 12-4 run that gave them an 11-point advantage at 35-24 at the break.

South whittled it to 37-35 with an 11-2 run to start the second half, but North never allowed the Dragons to tie it, and the Mustangs ultimately won each quarter en route to the victory.

 

Correction 

Halftime score was North 31 South 22     North finished the half on an 8-2 run.

I can’t comprehend that North gets a bye to the regional tournament.
