North Laurel goes to 3-0 on the season with a win over upstart Holy Cross, dropping the Indians to 2-1 on the season.

North Laurel heads to the WYMT Mountain Classic and Holy Cross plays fellow NKY Top 6 team Dixie on Tuesday night.  We will know a LOT about Holy Cross over next two weeks with games against Dixie, Ryle, Highlands (not sure if there two starters will be back by then, but they clearly miss the heck out of them), and then district rival Notre Dame.

MIssing two players definitely hurt the Indians.  North Laurel was able to focus on Robinson when she was nailing the threes instead of having to worrying about three players capable of hitting 5+ 3s per game.  Their 6-4 center helped neutralize Hunt although Hunt ended up with at least a dozen points several blocks and a healthy amount of rebounds.  Foul trouble also contributed to the loss with Whimzie getting her third foul in the first quarter forcing freshman Lehmkuhl and Nelson, who are varsity newcomers, to step up and eat a fair amount of minutes.  The next couple of weeks will be interesting.

Thanks @rjal, you always have great Cross info, appreciate it.

Who are the two starters/players that are out for HC?
Hunt and Robinsons games are going to really compliment each other!

McCoy and Bottom were out.  Only one of them would have started.  The other would most likely would have been first off the bench.

North Laurel was missing two players as well, including their best defensive player. Lady Jags could have folded after the first quarter but turned things up a notch in the second half. Holy Cross Chased Valentine the entire game and she still found a way to score 14, including turning in a solid fourth quarter. Bella Sizemore, Emily Sizemore and Chloe McKnight also played well. McKnight had her way at times in the post.
