Mark Turgeon out at Maryland

Featured Replies

Only 10 games into the season he has resigned, effective immediately.   Danny Manning has been named interim coach.

All stories say it was a mutual decision.  Seems out of the blue and an odd time.  Wonder if there’s a lot more to this waiting to be uncovered.

Must have been a four week extension. Lol. Think Frank Martin(South Carolina) will be next after 84-56 loss at Coastal Carolina??

Yes.  In April he was extended out until, I believe, 2026.   Seems odd to jump ship now.    I hope it's not health related.

A list of possible replacements.

Wes Miller is interesting.   Would he bolt UC that soon?    Naturally Pitino is on the list, but I don't see that happening.   Too much baggage, plus Rick is already 69 years old.   Would Maryland want him if he's only going to be there for a handful of seasons, forcing them to go through this again in 5 years or so?
